…by the way, which of these do you feel are “must see”?
I’m particularly interested to hear what the Rel.Ed. guy has to say, since his PhD is in Archaeobotany.
Of course, right-thinking Mormons know that BYU professors only teach evolution because of their obligation to teach worldly knowledge. It’s not as if they really believe in the stuff, or anything!

Aw MAN, I wish I could be there! Let us know about online potential. Otherwise, we’ll be expecting a full report.
I believe that BYU has a responsibility to teach evolution to its fullest, anything less would be unscientific. I teach things in my research methods class that I disagree with because they are contrary to the doctrines of the restored gospel, yet I have a responsibility to teach them.
Yet, as a BYU faculty member, I also have a responsibility to point out inconsistencies between the doctrines of the gospel and mankind’s doctrines, and to encourage students to discuss these differences.
I will be attending some of the seminars to see if the presenters point out potential inconsistencies between neo-darwinism and the gospel, or at least acknowledge that not all Latter-day Saints agree with every aspect of evolution. Failure to take this critical perspective will be construed by me as a deliberate attempt to indoctrinate students, or a manifestation of absent minded professor syndrome – neither is desireable.
Oh, don’t worry Dave, there will be plenty of self-appointed watchdogs making sure their brand of the ‘Orthodox Religion’ is being represented.
